Solential Taps Veteran Energy and Facilities Engineer David Berty as Director of Project Development

Carmel-based renewable energy company is expanding into microgrids, battery storage and complex building efficiency projects.

Solential Energy, a company best known for developing commercial solar projects across the Midwest, is expanding its focus and its team. Today the company announced it has named veteran energy and facilities engineer David Berty, PE, CEM, as its director of project development. The hiring reflects Solential’s growing emphasis on solving complex energy challenges faced by public and private enterprises.

Berty brings to Solential more than 20 years of experience in the energy and utilities industries, a career with heavy focus on improving energy efficiency for commercial and industrial companies. Prior to joining Solential, he was a project developer/energy engineer for Trane Technologies for nearly five years.

At Solential, Berty will be heavily involved in project conceptualization and development, working directly with customers. “I was a facilities management engineer for many years, so I’ve sat in the customer’s chair and understand their pain points.

A native of Indianapolis, Berty earned a degree in Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, where he played varsity football and ran track. He is a Certified Energy Manager.
